Question on the Brown Scapular

I got my scapular blessed today but forgot to ask my priest if it was ok to pray the Rosary instead of the Little Office. I have been told it is ok to pray the Rosary instead but I needed permission from a priest? Is this true? Any help would be much appreciated.

As far as I know, being a wearer of the Brown Scapular, you need the permission of your priest to substitute the Rosary for the Little Office. Just ask him next time you see him.

Old requirement, no longer done. These are the new requirements:

1. frequent participation in the Mass and reception of Holy Communion;
2. frequent reading of and meditation on the Word of God in Sacred Scripture;
3. the regular praying of at least part of the Liturgy of the Hours;
4. imitation of and devotion to Mary, the woman of faith who hears the Word of God and puts it into practice;
5. the practice of the virtues, notably charity, chastity (according to one’s state of life), and obedience to the will of God.
