Question on the Seal of Confession

The seal of confession is applicable to the priest who preside the penitent rite. But does it also apply to the penitent ?

Like for example, I publicly discuss the advice of a priest to overcome a certain sin.

Does it hold the penitent liable or is it really exclusivly for the priest alone ?
 
No. The seal binds the priest, and if there is an interpreter or anyone else who hears what is said, it binds them as well.

While it might not be prudent for the penitent to discuss his sins, he isn’t bound by the seal.

The penitent can choose to discuss publicly anything he or she wishes to reveal, including whatever the priest said. We have people on here every week posting how a priest in confession supposedly told them blahblahblah.

The seal applies to the priest and to anyone else who happens to hear the penitent’s confession (such as an interpreter, or somebody outside the confessional who happens to overhear).
