This is pretty much a world-wide flag etiquette thing. You are traditionally in any country supposed to put the countries flag on top and then other flags in alphabetical order beneath it.This may be a cultural thing (I am not an American) but is flag etiquette really such a big thing? This whole one flag must be above the other stuff… What if you feel more Catholic than American? As I say this may be borne out of being a Catholic in the UK; there is no way that you could dream of putting the union jack above any Catholic symbol…
Since the Union Jack is not the national flag of the United Kingdom, that may be why
