Question on this controversial picture

Imagine captioning this image like so, and you will see to some degree the kind of problem people might have:

This reminds me of an EMHC who brought Holy Communion to a now deceased lady in my former apartment building. She had a little chihuahua that would get in the way of the EMHC when she would give the lady Communion. The solution was that she would bring a doggie biscuit with her, and would give the Host to the lady with one hand, and a treat for the doggie with the other (Pooch would get hers first). It solved having a dog begging for a Host, as it wanted what it’s owner was receiving.

Guess I’m getting old: I had to google “planking” to see what the commotion was about. Even then, I thought it was a little lame.

I liked the Men in Black posters a lot better as catchy, humorous pieces of advertisement for vocations. I never saw the superhero poster (“yes, you get to save the world, no you can’t wear a cape!”)

Nothing particularly wrong with it, though. We Catholics need to lighten up a little bit. If we can’t laugh at ourselves a little, and scream “blasphemy,” “heresy,” or “mortal sin” every time there is something that just has a friendly little twist to it (like this does,) we’re going to look crazy to outsiders. Nobody wants to join a church full of crazy people!

There is an Orthodox website that advocates priestly vocations called “Good guys wear black”. I find the stories there awesome and inspiring which makes me consider a vocation in the Eastern Catholic Church

Well, actually, not ALL of us are originally Gentiles. I was originally Jewish and there’s a few others like that on this very board.

But yeah, I found the last picture and caption pretty funny. I mean, if you ever had doggies who begged, its hard to not see what it “might” look like to someone not educated in our religion.

Funny and original. How many young men may see this poster and ask what these men are doing, and God willing discern a possible vocation.
I think it is great.
