Thank you Father. It is deeply saddening and even frightening to me to hear/see the same hate filled spirit.
It is NOT of Christ.
However, it does reflect the same spirit, hate filled, of those who lighted the fires of Martyrs on both sides…the enemy of our souls rejoices when
“followers of Jesus” have such deep intolerance and arrogance.
Re: the Linn Brothers: their ministry has brought the healing of God to thousands, I among those thousands.
Is it hate to state or reaffirm what Christ says? How do you read what Christ says in Matthew 25:31-42 which ends “and these will go off to eternal punishment…” It is not intolerant to state a truth, nor is it hateful. Would you accuse Christ of intolerance for his statements here? What about when he threw the money changers out of the Temple–was that intolerant and hateful? When Christ called on us to repent --was he being intolerant? Christ message was not “anything goes”–it was repent, take up your cross and follow me, do the will of my Father. No one is excluded from that call.
How do you define tolerance and where is your tolerance for those you refer to as “followers of Jesus”? What is sad is that so few seek the truth today. So few look for it and try to live in accordance with it. Instead they call for “tolerance” and often make up their own truth–a truth according to how they want to live and their ideas of fairness and justice–while oh so tolerantly calling those who do not agree with them and their truth “hate filled”.
Are you tolerant of: Child abuse? Domestic Violence? Theft? Murder? Slavery? I would hope not – it’s obvious that your tolerance does not extend to everyone and everything for you refer to an “enemy of our souls” – it would appear you are not tolerant of this enemy. It is false to claim to be tolerant – when you yourself are intolerant of a good many things–I am assuming and certainly hope that you are intolerant of the above. I have no problem if you come here and say you believe x,y,z for reasons a,b, and c or I found the book helpful because of y and z, but I do object to those who come here and assert tolerance while obviously having no tolerance for those holding a different view point. When you say I believe x,y,z–we can discuss that. When you come here and suggest we are not tolerant–you simply dismiss those who disagree with you as backwards and assert the superiority of your own beliefs.
I don’t know anymore about the book than what I have seen posted on this thread but if it asserts there is no hell–that seems like it might be problematic–in a formation program for those aspiring to be deacons. I say might because I would need to know how the book is being used is the program. That there is a hell seems pretty well established–if there is to be debate it seems that it would need to be more along the lines of whether or not any humans are in or will go to hell–not an the existence of hell–which is a debate I’m not interested in–I am not willing to take the bet that no one goes there. It is my belief that simply being afraid of going to hell does not give one the adequate strength or will to avoid living in a manner that might send one there–It is only when we know and love God/Christ that we will truly desire to do the Fathers will, to take up our cross and truly follow Christ–seeking to live as he commanded and seek the grace that he provides.
I truly hope that they truly brought the healing of God to you and not a patent medicine.
