At what age do kids receive their sacraments in Melbourne? Thanks.

Dear mumof5,

The age of sacraments in Melbourne can change from parish to parish and is at the discretion of the priest. Baptism of course shortly after birth, Sacrament of Penance in grade 2 or 3 and Holy Communion in grade 3 or 5 and Confirmation in grade 6. Are you moving to Melbourne. I know of some great parishes, one with perpetual adoration.

God Bless

We might be next year. I’m just trying to sort out how to work out the sacraments. We attended a Kew parish when staying in that area in September but I would be looking at a different parish for permanent.

My son is 8 and is either doing his first reconciliation in a few weeks or at the end of the year. If he does it at the end of the year, that will mean he doesn’t get to do his first communion and confirmation in February/March with the others. They do them together here at year 3 level in school.
