Because of an employment opportunity, I am considering a move to Amarillo in the near future. Unfortunately, the nearest Traditional Latin Masses to Amarillo are currently in OKC and Albuquerque, and this is an enormous negative against me making the move.
I understand that Bishop Zurek was just recently appointed to the Diocese of Amarillo. I haven’t been able to locate a great deal of information about him on the internet, other than the fact that he had previously been Auxiliary Bishop of San Antonio and, before that, was a priest in Austin.
By any chance, is anyone familiar enough with Bishop Zurek to know if he would likely welcome having the Extraordinary Form of the Mass offered in his new diocese?
I don’t anticipate being able to drum up a group of aficionados to request the TLM as soon as I roll into town. But, it would be nice to have an idea as to whether such a future request might be met with enthusiasm or resistance from the bishop.
