Lets not forget the persecution of the first 400 years of our Catholic Popes, Saints and Martyrs and continues to this day from both secular powers and religious. From this persecution the Apostolic Catholic Church never lost her faith. The Catholic church did not win this history from her persecutors, what she records is her plight during persecution and faith maintained Rock unchanged. Quite a contradiction to your “winners wrote history” here.

What defeated the heretics, and heretical teachings that came against the Apostolic Catholic Church were settled by Councils, not blood shed, for these false doctrines dissappeared with them, and yet they show up in history in different forms. Again your “winners wrote history” does not compute here. The history the Catholic Church records is for her flock to keep away from the wolves in sheep’s clothing, she did not kill the wolf, she records exposing the wolf to her flock.

Let us not confuse the Catholic Church with her Catholic members who held Royal positions acting from powers that were secular.

Btw, what is “the rediscovered Key of Truth”? did a new wolf show up again in sheep’s clothing to write its new chapter in history which the Church defeated in council from times past?

The opponents from Secular and religious history outside of Christianity both reveal the Catholic church in their midst, especially the Popes and Bishops being persecuted by them.

yes orthodoxy was the winner but that’s not really the question but rather were those winners an example of survival of the strongest or survival of the fittest.
