Question regarding Intinction for our Syro-Malabar Catholic brethren

Unless the Syro-Malabars have something special in Particular Law (and I do not believe that is the case, but I’m open to correction), self-intinction is **never **allowed among the laity.

I suppose it might be worth noting that in at least some of the Oriental Churches (the Maronite and Chaldean Churches for sure), deacons and, in some cases when necessary, lesser ministers, can also distribute communion by intinction. But even they are normally communed by a priest.

If it’s in the rubrics of the approved liturgy, it needs no specific enabler in particular law; the approved rubrics have force of law.
