I also emailed the camp ground to express my concern to which I also received a quick response. This email came directly from the “woman priest”.
Since we don’t know what you said in your email to the campground, we can’t really offer a response to her email to you – at the very least, we can’t respond to her jab that you don’t know the faith as well as you think you do.
At a minimum, you know that the campground condones (if not supports) her ministry.
I mislead no one by what I print on our camp information sheet. I readily explain the official RCC position and my call to priesthood. Thinking Catholics may then choose to participate or not.
This might be the reasonable point at which to enter into discussion.
I don’t know what the campground says about her Sunday services, or how she characterizes them, but… if either of them calls them a “Roman Catholic Mass”, this might be the point upon which to embark. I might envision the following response:
"Dear Sandy,
Thank you for your kind response to my email. I appreciate your cordial invitation to join you at worship on Sundays at Happy Trails Campground.
Unfortunately, since any worship service which you might lead would not fulfill the obligation for a Roman Catholic to attend Mass on Sunday, I’m going to have to decline your kind offer to attend your service.
Blessings,
Dave"
- I mean no disrespect, but you do not know as much as you think you know about Catholicism.
I would just leave this alone. “I don’t want to debate with you” and “let me bait you into conversation”
should be mutually exclusive… but apparently, they’re not. Just let her do her thing, and pray for her.
