Are we as catholics and christians in this generation meant to go by the 10 commandments that were given by moses to give to the jews.I have being contemplating this idea for a while now:shrug:
I wonder why were the jews the chosen people of god?.In the time before the 10 commandments and after the 10 commandments, what were the other people doing.I mean how come the germans ,english, and all other people were not the chosen people of GOD.Did God not like them as much as the jews.Sorry if my question sounds a bit too much but i seriously as a christian wonder about these questions!!.In my heart i feel that the 10 commandments were for not just the jews but all of man kind.Well that is just my guess.I hope this is the right place to post these questions!.A freind of mine was telling me that the 10 commandments were only for the jews and never intended for us christians!.Thank you.

God chooses Abraham
59 In order to gather together scattered humanity God calls Abram from his country, his kindred and his father’s house,16 and makes him Abraham, that is, “the father of a multitude of nations”. "In you all the nations of the earth shall be blessed."17
60 The people descended from Abraham would be the trustee of the promise made to the patriarchs, the chosen people, called to prepare for that day when God would gather all his children into the unity of the Church.18 They would be the root on to which the Gentiles would be grafted, once they came to believe.19
It is the Year of Faith. Read the catechism and learn your faith.

(should be in the Sacred Scripture subforum 😉 )
