That doesn’t make sense. I’m sure my KJV of the bible says just what yours does. So if mormons can’t find it in the bible then how do you explain catholics having it? And again the melchizedek priesthood is in the bible. A preist after the order of melchizedek has the melchiszedek priesthood. It says black and white right in the bible. And one more question do catholics believe in modern visions/revelations?
In the story in Genesis, Melchizedek appears from no where like he has no mother or father. Christ appears without a biological mother or father on the order of (like) Melchizedek. So Christ is a Priest-King on the other of (like) Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:15-17)

Oops! Christ did have a biological mother. Her name was Mary, remember?🙂
The other point you make i(the order of being synonymous with like or in the fashion of) is accurate:thumbsup:

Thank you very informative just what I needed. Now why do catholics give other religions **** about having being founded on visions and revelations?
I think we already covered this recently, though, maybe that was with falisrm. At any rate, here goes:

Revelation cannot change or alter existing doctrines. No new doctrines are given as Jesus Christ is the final and perfect Revelation of God.

Restorationist religions assert that God has revealed contradictory doctrine, which, we don’t accept.

Also, we believe that God is constantly revealing Himself to His Church and every individual. A personal revelation, such as angels showing up in your bedroom, are not binding on the church as a whole.

So, the link I gave you, the Church has declared that they are not contrary to Doctrine. It is not required of any Catholic to believe them as part of a doctrine.

Whereas as church such as Mormonism, you have to start with a belief that someone else’s claimed private revelation, that contradicts doctrine, is relevant to you and the whole world.

Melchizedek was a high priest. He was the King of Salem. The KJV does not say that there is a “Melchizedek priesthood”. (Actually neither does the New American Bible, The Jerusalem Bible. or the Doauy-Rheimes Bible. I have those too.) The only time the Bible speaks of a melchizedek priesthood is in the Joseph Smith Translation and then he put it there to bolster his new religion. It is not in “black and white” in other translations of the Bible. My quotes were from the KJV, but if you don’t believe me, I am sure that you can find Bible translations on the web, or actually go to a bookstore and look there.

I think you’re confused about Catholicism…nothing can go against Church teaching that is reflected in the sacred scriptures and sacred tradition. Occasionally throughout history things are defined for clarification… Heretics pop up and start teaching heresy on their own…so the Church ends up having to clarify to keep the body of Christ together…unified.

These reparations are not required to believe. Why? Well they do not go against Church teaching…if it does then it is renounced… Catholics are a spiritual people…very charismatic… some opt for just the cognitive stuff, but others, like myself tend to find God in the spirituality of the Chruch. That’s why there are so many different religious orders… each with its own spirituality…but all under the Holy Father in Rome.
