I was thinking about how in pop culture you hear the idea of selling your soul to the devil, and ithoughtin my head"I sell my soul to the devil"
I didn’t confess this before because i didn’t think it was a sin, but now i’m not sure. I think I’m possibly being overly scrupulous.
 
We do have to account for every idle word. Better do it in confession than at the Judgement…
 
It depends on whether you actually meant it. Stray thoughts often come into our heads uninvited. They do not become sinful until we consent to them.
 
you will need to confess it only if you actually meant it.

you can defend atheism in a school essay or during a debate, but since you don’t actually hold to that position, it is not a sin.
