I want to know something…If we have a free will to do what we want right…right…OK, well then if we choose to kill someone right, but regret it and never do it again, repent, etc…and beg GOD for forgiveness, and GOD does forgive, that person still has the ability to make it to heaven…right? Right…Well why does the same not apply if someone commits suicide?

Why is a suicide never allowed to be forgiven, nor allowed to enter the gates of heaven yet someone who kills might still have the chance to do so???🤷

where did you hear/read that someone who commits suicide cannot be forgiven by God?

From the catechism… (in this section)…
2280
Everyone is responsible for his life before God who has given it to him. It is God who remains the sovereign Master of life. We are obliged to accept life gratefully and preserve it for his honor and the salvation of our souls. We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted to us. It is not ours to dispose of.
2281
Suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate his life. It is gravely contrary to the just love of self. It likewise offends love of neighbor because it unjustly breaks the ties of solidarity with family, nation, and other human societies to which we continue to have obligations. Suicide is contrary to love for the living God.
2282
If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.
Code:
**Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.**
2283
We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives.

I’m echoing EM.
newadvent.org/cathen/14326b.htm

Basically, one’s responsibility can be mitigated or reduced, if she/he did so out of mental/emotional anguish, etc…

And…none of us can fathom God’s mercy, and consideration upon us all. I think that there is hope for anyone, where God is concerned.:o

Hope this helps iluvmybabies.🙂

A couple of friends and my mother and I were discussing a few things from the Bible you know, and how GOD forgives us and LOVES US, but my mother, like always and her 2 cents says to me, “You do realize God will get tired of forgiving us and will refuse one day to do so and we will be all damned to hell!!” And then one of my friends brought up the whole suicide thing and then one thing led to another and then it came up that GOD will not forgive suicides that they are all condemned for taking their own life!!!🤷

What about the gospel about forgiving “70 times 7”…???

God doesn’t get tired of forgiving… but He also knows our heart… He forgives if we are truly repentant and TRY to change.

Actually God does NOT tire of forgiving us, thank goodness. That doesn’t mean we should try to take advantage of His love, but we can always be assured that if we repent, he will forgive everything.

I think your mom might like a Catechism this Christmas! 😃 😃 😃

You should invest in a good set of earplugs, where your mom is concerned. (add this to the list of things she tells you! lol) Not to be rude, but she really doesn’t know what she is talking about here. :o God doesn’t tire of forgiving us. His mercy is unfathomable. Because we as humans are limited in how we forgive…we can’t put that on God. God and His mercy is **far beyond **our comprehension…

Tell your mom that. 😃
