I was riding my bike with a friend on the way to another friends house. We were on our way, and he was about to go down a road that I remembered my parents have told me not to ride down (its busy). There was no convincing my friend to go a different way, so I decided to go a different way, and meet him there. A few minutes after I went the other way I realized that if I continued to go that way, I would end up just having to go across that road. So I had to choose;
1.) Turn around and go a different way, and leave my friend waiting for a long time.
2.) Keep going the way I was going, and cross the road so that I could make my way to the house without having to go all the way DOWN that road like my friend was.
I chose 1, and then when I got home told my parents what happened. They really wouldn’t have been that thrilled with 2, either. My question is, did I commit a mortal sin by doing this? I was kind of between a rock and a hard place with this one.
