Are Catholic Priest apostles ?
THANK YOUNo. They are, in a limited way, successors to the Apostles. But our Bishops are in the truer sense successors of the Apostles. But none of 'em are ACTUALLY Apostles - to us that term is reserved to those chosen personally by Christ (hence we consider St Paul to be an Apostle too).
The Pope is a Bishop. All Bishops are successors of the original 12 Apostles. Is the Pope one?
I’m sure you mean a couple of millenniaThe Pope is the Bishop of Rome and the head of the Church (first among equals, so to speak).
He is not an “Apostle” like some bizarre sects claim for their founders. He does not have a direct telephone line to Heaven or know God’s personal cell number…
The Word came to us** a couple of centuries ago** and the Church’s mission is to go and teach all nations the Good News about Jesus and God’s plan for mankind.
The apostles were the initial followers of Jesus during his earthly ministry.

The Church teaches that the apostles had a universal teaching authority among other graces. The pope, while not an apostle, is the only one with this grace today. Is the Pope one?

Oops! I sure did and thank you for catching it!The Church, however, is one, holy, catholic and apostolic
