protestants don’t publicly confess nor do they believe contraception is wrong, therefore, according the the Catholic church, will be denied.

I think you need to find a solid spiritual advisor. He may be able to work with you regarding your misconceptions about salvation and Church teaching.

Hey Arbie,

I can totally relate to the challenge of returning to the Church, getting engrossed in learning about all the teachings of the Church and realizing that I didn’t know if I really could accept some. What I did is I started praying for God to give me the understanding to go with my faith. I first acknowledged that I accepted that what the church taught was right, but that I really wanted my head to catch up to my heart on these matters.

What’s amazing is that in most cases, almost immediately after this prayer, without my having had the opportunity to take action on finding the reasons, the answer would come to me (a radio station, a Homily, a conversation, a book at a Used Book Store, etc.). I truly thank the Holy Spirit for being there!

Give it a try. Ask in sincere prayer for the information you need to better understand why the Church teaches as she does.

In the meantime, I’ll say my own prayer for you.
