Hello all,

Lately I’ve been going through some hardships in my life. These hardships have guided me to follow my faith like i never have. Yesterday i went confession, my first time since i did my first communion. I’m more in tune with the lord and i believe i really needed this hardship, as it has completely changed the way I see my life as a whole. On to the dream question. Ive been asking and inviting God to speak to me in my dreams. This morning I had a dream and woke up right away. I believe it was God talking to me, what exactly he said I would like to keep to myself. But i would say this much, that it seemed like something i would read in the bible. It seemed so direct to me and direct to the situation I’m going through. My question is, has anyone ever had an experience like this one?

Well, as you are keeping it to yourself, no-one can really answer that question:).

He can, however, use our dreams for this purpose.

I am an active dreamer. Some of my dreams could become movie scripts. I even write entire songs in my dreams; was able to remember one song enough to write it down. God does speak to me through dreams, and He has done so with people throughout human history. Now, because it was on your mind, it could be a product of your own brain; however, it could be from God. I usually know if my dreams are Divinely sent because they “feel” different to me, but sometimes I have to pray about it. My advice is to pray about it and go to the Bible, God will guide you to the answer. If you have a priest or religious brother/sister who is experienced with dreams, consult them. You may also pm me information about the dream and I can see if God will give me the answer; He often does. I often help friends with their dreams.

Yes, I have had 3 such dreams, the last one was about 8 months ago. 1 of them, God came directly into an ongoing dream, came right to me, cupped my face in his hands and told me to 'stop playing games", I think he was talking about me being somewhat lukewarm, or being a fence sitter in regards to my religion, but it was a much different feeling than a regular dream, its hard to explain or even put into words, the best thing I can say to describe it, is you JUST KNOW its from God.

You also do not forget them, every other dream, Im lucky if I remember anything about it later in the day, but these dreams, I can still see every detail months later. The one thing that stood out to me, the outer robe God/ Jesus was wearing, it was so vibrant, unlike any other blue Ive ever seen, it was almost like it was alive/ glowing/radiating.

I was out of work once years ago and asked God to give me a dream telling me what I should do as a career. That night I dreamed I was in a crowded theater and it caught fire. I was helping people toward the exits when I woke up. I recall some of the people just sat there staring at the fire as if it were the movie. Others outright refused to leave their seats. I could not figure out what this dream meant as a career since I was too old to become a fireman. About 5 years later I told this dream to a group of kids I was mentoring, and some of them piped up right away with “The fire was hell.” and “That was us you were helping get out.”

It is very common for believers to here a voice or see in a dream a bible passage referenced by title and number. It is to edify and comfort.
