I had a cool experience. I prayed the rosary and after I finished I felt someone in the room probably the blessed virgin Mary and i guess she put something on my head or was placing her hand on my head then 2 minutes later I prayed to God to have me baptized filled anointed and empowered by the holy spirit and after I finished I felt someone pouring something on me like oil but then I said part of the Nicene Creed and it went away do you think it was a cool experience who do you think it was I don’t know wonder what you people think. if I have more questions ill put them in the comments below. God bless all who read this.

I guess anything’s possible. Who knows?
Are you Catholic?

i was baptized as a baby im planning on being confirmed

That sounds like a very powerful experience! I hope the Holy Spirit to continues to work in your life!! I once prayed for God to warm my heart and not make me so cold-hearted. After I said the prayer I literally felt warmth moving throughout my body. I think I still need to try not to be so stone-hearted though! 😝

Regardless, we must remember that our efforts to pray do not depend on emotional or physical sense for confirmation or affirmation.
Manifestation is occasionally a gift from God, for instance, at the beginning of a spiritual journey … although not exclusive to that time.

However, our prayers are usually acts of will, of hope, and of faith.
If we begin to depend on manifestations we risk becoming dependent upon them, and can either deceive ourselves or alternatively, become despondent, and even abandon prayer and faith in God.

May God bless you with all the graces of the Sacraments and of faithful prayer.

Kind wishes and prayers 🕊️

If you’ve been baptized, you needn’t be baptized again. That’s the part that confused me a little.

i have a question i was baptized as a baby and im planning on being confirmed i know i have to talk to the priest but since i was baptized as a baby how does confimation work if im already baptized let me know when you can

Generally, confirmation is going to be a process of study and discernment, especially if you’ve been away from the faith, and haven’t received other sacraments, like Reconciliation or First Eucharist.

Confirmation generally happens at the Easter Vigil. Since Easter is in a couple of weeks, it won’t happen this year— but it’s a great time to get things moving for Easter, 2020.

You’d get in touch with your local parish and ask to enroll in their RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) classes. So you’ll be part of a group of individuals who are all on the same path.

Congratulations on your experience, and good luck on your path. 💙

Baptism and confirmation are separate. If you were baptized, there’s nothing more to it insofar as confirmation is concerned.

i have another question i made a sinners prayer more catholic style can a catholic pray a sinners prayer even though there’s none in the bible i put catholic stuff into the sinners prayer and i don’t know if i can pray it. also is the Nicene creed like a sinners prayer since your professing your faith in God and confessing with you mouth that Jesus as your lord and savior also can the Nicene creed be prayed in my head also can i pray hail Mary and other Marian prayers in my head will she hear me or can she not read minds. let me know when you can in the comments. God Bless all of you a thousandfold.

A sinners’ prayer is basically a prayer of repentance, right? The term is mostly an evangelical thing, but prayer itself is ultimately conversation with God, which isn’t limited to any sect. There are four basic kinds of prayer: Petition (give me something, plz!), Adoration (you’re wonderful), Contrition (I’m sorry), and Thanksgiving (thank you!). Lots of standard prayers can combine multiple types into one prayer (ie, the Our Father), but not all prayer is memorized/recited. But if you do a freeform prayer, it’s important to make sure you don’t just focus on the gimme/gimme/gimme/fix those people, plz! kinds of prayers. 🙂

The Creed is pretty much a statement of faith. (“Credo” - “I believe.”) Suppose you have one hundred people who say they all follow Christ— but do they all believe in the same thing? What happens if some people think Christ was a great man, but not God? And others thought that he was God, but not man? And others thought that he’s actually St. Michael? What about those who thought he pretended to die? What about those who thought he pretended to live? Heresies were cropping up from the get-go, and it was important to make sure everyone was on the same page. So the Creed spells out the theological understanding of the basics of what you need to believe. “I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary…” etc.

So the Creed was further developed to clarify the basics of faith as additional heresies popped up over time, which is why you have the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed (325, introduced into the Mass around 500).

We know from Revelation that the saints in heaven offer up the prayers of those on earth. And we know from Jesus in Luke talking about how heaven rejoices over the conversion of one sinner. Do you think that the saints in heaven are offering up a bunch of sealed envelopes, and they don’t know what they’re uniting their prayers to? Or do you think that there’s a Jumbotron in heaven that alerts the saints in heaven, “Hey, one more sinner converted!” so that everyone knows when to rejoice? Or do you think that God allows those in heaven to share in certain graces so that they have the ability to do their work in heaven, after their work on earth was completed?

is there a prayer to renounce protestantism and if so can i pray it or can i make up my own also for a prayer to renounce paganism which i used to do help me with what i should do

Here is a prayer that is a renewal of one’s baptismal vows. They might say it at Mass tomorrow instead of the creed.

You are of course free to pray it by yourself, making the necessary adjustments. You will see that your wanting to say the creed was the right step!

You should go to Mass, and if you have not received your First Holy Communion, not receive the Eucharist until you have spoken with a priest.

If you have not been practicing Catholicism for a long time but have received First Holy Communion, then go to Confession before you receive the Eucharist. If you think your confession will take a long time, best to speak to the priest after Mass to ask how best to make an appointment for Confession.

It sounds like you received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is something charismatic Catholics talk about. It is scriptural, and it means that God is working in your life.
Do talk to your priest. Confirmation is the next step as an adult after being baptized as a baby. When you were baptized originally you were too young to understand, so confirmation is agreeing as an adult to the promises made for you at baptism.

Eastern rites confirm babies so that’s not fully accurate.

Are your parents Catholic?

Were you raised Catholic (taken to Mass)?

If you weren’t baptized, or are unsure, you’ll have to talk to a Priest and ask about it.

Technically you need to be baptized/ received into the Church to be considered Catholic. Easter is the usual time for this. However it may be possible to get things sorted sooner.

Some people have said that they are Unofficially Catholic. That may work for you until things get sorted.

I think you need to be checked out by a psychiatrist, to rule out any pathology.
