Not in the Bible, no, but fortunately we’re Catholic and, while the Bible is certainly great, and we should all read it and learn from it, it is not the only source of revelation. We have 2000 years of unbroken tradition honoring her as our spiritual mother. We also have the writings of several Apostolic and Early Church Fathers showing the degree to which she was honored as the mother of our Lord.
Although I am on my way to Eastern Orthodoxy, and we do not really read Revelation liturgically, I have heard that Revelation connects with the Gospels that further illumine the relationship of the Theotokos to us Christians as our mother. I think this video explains it fairly well (although Orthodox reject the Immaculate Conception part of the video, nevertheless everything else is great I think).

So what does one have to do in the Catholic church to obtain salvation. I’ve been saved and baptized.
Actually, no one is saved until he is dead. Period. That’s what being saved is: standing before the Eternal Throne of Heaven.

3rd. What no birth control? I have the hardest time with this one because I have one child of my own and 2 step-children that I am raising with absolutely no help from their mother and I cannot afford another child.
I understand how this is difficult for you.

But firstly we should talk about abortion. Are you against abortion?

If so, then you need to be against many forms of birth control, including oral contraceptives and IUDs…for those quite often do not stop conception but rather stop the new little life from implanting.

And that’s an abortion.

=Tshort;13161842]Hello. I’m a christian and I just have some questions about Catholicism.
Welcome. You have come to the right place to ask. You will certainly get answers and most of them will even be correct.😃
1st. Is the catholic church more unified than Christian churches? I’m kind of sick of the arguments that all of the denominations have with each other. It’s caused arguments within my own family
. The simple andwer is yes. But just as within any family there are those that like to bicker with each other the same goes with us. As a Catholic I can walking into in Catholic parish around the world and free receive the sacraments. However within the town I live in there are three parishes and mine is the better of the three. 😃
2d. With all due respect, why is Mary my mother?
As Christ is our brother the Blessed Virgin is our Mother.
3rd. What no birth control? I have the hardest time with this one because I have one child of my own and 2 step-children that I am raising with absolutely no help from their mother and I cannot afford another child.
And I don’t think God wants me to have more children than I can financially afford.
This is not meant to sound argumentative I was just looking for some answers
The Church does not say no Birth Control. That is false. The Church says not artifical birth control. NFP has been shown to be more effetive than the pill and is much safer for the health of the women.
