If you think how bad EWTN could be, then it is remarkably orthodox. I too paid to have a dish fitted (it’s the only way to get it over here) but it’s money well spent. EWTN is in the forefront of the restoration of Catholic culture. Some of the programmes are quite high-powered and expect a lot of the audience, which is good. I’ve taped broadcasts and used them in evangelisation, especially from ‘The Journey Home’, and I also had an email read out on ‘The World Over’. It’s all good.

Anglicans and Lutherans are Protestants per the Catholic Church.
Was I not terribly clear? I’m well aware that they’re protestants. They’re just not talked about very much. Most of the material aired by EWTN is geared towards the arguments of fundamentalists, which Lutherans and Anglicans, although many claim to be, certainly are not.

Ray Marshall:
There’s only 24 hours in a day.

EWTN is a totally listener supported operation which operates on a month to month basis with that support.

They would need a second channel to provide all the additional programming that is requested.

As big as the operation is, it is only a blip in the American television presence. If somebody can figure out a way to increase their income, I’m sure they would be thrilled to expand their operation.

If you’re looking for something unique, don’t forget that most of their past series programs are available for viewing in their library at www.ewtn.com.
What about EWTN becoming commercial. It could sell ad space for various Catholic businesses and charities. That way, during the commercial break of the Mass, I could switch channels quickly and watch The Simpsons.
