  1. What does the Bible tell us about Guardian angels? When has he/she been with us?
  2. Do they have a name? Are they male or female?
  3. Praying to Guardian angels and praying to saints. Which is better?
  4. Where do they go when we die?
Thank you so much for answering my questions!

Dr Kreeft can best answer your first question.

They are neither male nor female, per the New Testament.

Neither is “better”, both are good!

The angels will be in heaven after we die.

This is an excellent article:

There are all sorts of angels in the Old and New Testaments, and Jesus confirms we have Guardian Angels in Matthew 18:10. You can pray to both angels and saints; one is not “better” prayer than the other.

Each angel is its own species, neither male nor female. A guardian angel is assigned to us so once we die the angels mission with us is done, not sure if God gives them another mission.

We should pray to our gaurdian angels and have a relationship them, but should not name them. Yes pray to the saints as well. We have a big family and need the help.

I heard it is incorrect to name our angels they are made by God and so named by Him.

Yes I heard the same, neither are we to name the demons, that is only for a trained excorcist to do.

Can you point that out to me?

Scripture says that man was made a little lower than the angels.

Hebrews 2, Psalm 8

One thing is for sure Mary is the post powerful intercessor.

Well, there’s Cor. 6:3:

“Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!”

But that speaks of judging, not ruling.

I have incorporated the “Guardian Angel of the United States” prayers and so have many on this forum in the prayer intentions section.

It is ok to have your guardian angel pray in your stead so I asked for my guardian angel to pray while I sleep. I believe this is allowed and is very helpful. 2cd3dfc1ffb51a8d76a81860b706ec64|480x480

There is a YouTube series on angels by Deacon Dykes, I believe. The link you can find on this form I’m if you search.
  1. There is plenty in the Bible about angles.
  2. Some at named in scripture. Michale, Gabriel and Raffael.
3 . Saints are higher than the angles.
  3. It is believed that they were all created in the first day of creation. “ Let there be light”.
The ones who did not fall are with God forever.
You are not supposed to name your guardian angel!

What if your angel reveals their name. I’m still skeptical with it, but it was as real as can be. I was told it’s name was Solfry (pronounced soul-free). I asked more than once how to spell and pronounce. I do not pray to it but I sure do wonder about it. And this happened after I had asked my guardian angel to reveal itself. I’m always intrigued by such mysteries.

Reading this article explains the basic facts - Msgr. Charles Pope Some Basic Facts and Clarifications about the Angels
  1. AFAIK, since our Baptism
  2. Angel refers to their office, so is not their name.
Some angels do have names - the 3 archangels, Michael, Gabriel
and Raphael. (Whilst we do know the names of some others, Catholics are not to use them or venerate them).
  3. Both.

  • What does the Bible tell us about Guardian angels? When has he/she been with us?
    –Jesus once said–
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
So-- we can figure that, among other things, a) they’re always with us, and b) they’re also in the presence of God.
  • Do they have a name? Are they male or female?
    – They all have names, but giving names implies that the name-er has power over the name-ee. Which is why Adam named all the animals, but not the angels-- the animals were given to Adam to dominate over, whereas the angels are spiritually and intellectually superior to us. Because they’re pure spirit, they don’t have bodies, and since they don’t have bodies, they have no biological sex.
  • Praying to Guardian angels and praying to saints. Which is better?
    — Why not both? It’s traditional to say seven Glory Be’s in honor of your guardian angel every morning. When you go to Mass, one tradition is that your angel carries your Mass intentions to God. Don’t neglect your relationship with your guardian angel, but also don’t worry that because you ask for the intercession of A, you also can’t ask for the intercession of B.
  • Where do they go when we die?
Well, hopefully, we both end up in Heaven together. If I end up in Purgatory, one traditional belief is that our angel will intercede for us from heaven, and will also inspire those left behind on earth to think of me and pray for me. If I end up rejecting God, I’m also most likely going to reject my angel as well… and my angel, who is already perfectly united with God’s will, will praise God’s holiness and justice.
