🙂 thanks, then no offense taken Just hard to tell on the inter-web. 😃

I think Agnostics and non-theists are a good addition to this forum, along with our Protestant brethren. It challenges us as well as allows us an opportunity to practice Apologetics. Which, at the end of the day, is why I am here.
👍
Haha very true, ya get some practice! And actualy I am a thiest, a soft polythiest to be exact.

The body needs to be resurected for it to be judged, meaning that the soul reunites with the body, meaning that isn’t in hell anymore, but now it is back in the physical plain of existance where you are judged in the physical world, then thrown into the Lake of Fire or the molten lave under the earths’ crust. If Hell was forever, then there wouldn’t be a resurection of the body, or a judgement of the dead.
A five minute coffee break does not mean Hell is temporary. Hell IS forever. No release.

From Modern Catholic Dictionary, Fr. John Hardon, S.J.
ETERNAL DEATH. The lot of the wicked who die estranged from God. It is called death because the person is deprived of the possession of God, who gives life to the soul. And it is eternal because it will never end
ETERNAL PUNISHMENT. The unending penalty suffered in hell by the evil spirits and the human beings who die in mortal sin. The Church bases her teaching about the existence of eternal punishment on the words of Christ in foretelling the final judgment (Matthew 25:34, 41). He compares the sentence of the just with the condemnation of the wicked. Christ as judge will first say, “Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take for your heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.” But to the unjust, “Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” Then he repeats the two judgments with a conclusion, speaking first of the lost and then of the saved, “And they will go into eternal [aionios] punishment, and the virtuous to eternal [aionios] life” (Matthew 25:46). Since there is no question about the endless duration of heaven, the Church concludes the same about hell. The eternity of hell was defined by the Fourth Lateran Council in 1215.
We can sometimes get caught trying to contemplate eternity in terms of time. Time , as we know it, is ( according to Blaise Pascal) a sequence of moments. Eternity is beyond the limits of time. And Hell is eternal.

For those who have passed through the door of death, time for them as they knew it has ceased ; and they are in eternity.

In Matthew 28:19-20 , our Blessed Lord tells us [DRV] :

“Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.”

Bishop Sheen differentiated between the spirit of the world, and the *world *itself. He spoke of the world as the “theatre for the act of the Redemption”.

The consummation of the world cannot occur until the Redemption shall have obtained all its effects. Until that happens, the world continues in time. We believe it will be at the consummation of the world (sometimes called the “end” [Matt 24:1-14] ) that the General Judgment shall take place. Rather than the General Judgment being an event which will be recorded during time , it is in all likelihood the event which actually announces the end of time as we know it ; the focal point upon which time converges since its beginning.

. . . A little easier to wrap our minds around, in that the seam between time and eternity dissolves at the crucial point .

If we look at how the Church arrives at Her reasoning on the final things (eschatology) , we could no more say that* Hell is a temporary prison than we could say that Heaven is a temporary paradise or reward*.

All that being said, it is also true that the General Judgment and the Particular Judgment are not the same : Part One: The Apostles’ Creed ; “ From Thence He Shall Come to Judge the Living and the Dead” ; *Real Presence Eucharistic Education and Adoration Association *

Hell is a place both physical and spiritual: a place for souls (and demons) only at first, but then later for bodies as well. I heard that these bodies will remain dead and will cause the dammned souls great humiliation.

Then the dead won’t be able to stand for judgement. The rightous will judge the dead. That body need to be alive and walking, wheeling, or whatever way it gets to judgement. God himself said depart from me, meaning that they were gathered together to be judged, as in physical body is physically present at the judgement. Every man, woman and child will be judged in Isreal, dead or rightous.

That Five minute coffe break ***will be for ***eternal judgement, and that is the only coffe break they will ever get.

They were eternally judged at The Particular Judgement.

They were eternally judged at The Particular Judgement.
Not true, they still have to get the white thrown judgement Rev 21: 10. The dead are judged (by the rightous). They won’t see God because they lost him when they died. Hades and Death are thrown into the pool of fire also.

The Particular Judgement determines the eternal destination for everyone who dies. The Final Judgement adds nothing to those who are already in Hell. For those already in Hell their eternal destination and punishment are only confirmed by The Final Judgement. Nothing at all changes for them apart from being reunited with their bodies.

By the way I think you have the wrong chapter or verse because it has nothing to do with what you are saying.

Rev 21:10 And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain, and he shewed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
