If you have cable TV, you should try to watch “The Journey Home” on EWTN. It is on Monday at 8PM. And if you don’t have cable EWTN streams all of their programming. www.ewtn.com.

That was very nice of you to jump right in and go to Mass. I hope you can find some Catholics locally who can give you an outline of the faith. You also should try to get a hold of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

And welcome, aboard. Another good book for you to get hold of is something called “Magnificat.” It has all of the readings (Daily and Sunday Masses) for the entire month, as well as the parts of the Mass.

From you background, you might also profit a lot from a book by Scott Hahn entitled “The Lamb’s Supper.” It gives Scriptural basis for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as well as excellent insights from a convert who, himself was a Protestant minister. Another book, carried by Ignatius Press, is called “Worthy is the Lamb”, which gives a good explanation of the Mass.

To better answer your questions on Catholicism, Fr. John Trigillo has a book called “Catholicism for Dummies” which is a really good read. The Compendium of the Catechism is another good tool, but sometimes, it can be rather overwhelming. Like St. Paul says, sometimes you need mother’s milk before you can get into the solid food.

We’ll be praying for you. Believe me, once you jump into the Tiber, you’ll have life preservers all around you. We’ll all be there to help you along the way. Just moor yourself to the barque of St. Peter and you’ll do just fine.
