Questions about serving Low Mass

I recently started to serve the EF of the Roman Rite but have a few questions and would be appreciative of any answers.
  1. Responses
    There is a lady in the congregation who is very good at the responses but speaks them very loudly. Should I keep in time with her or just go at my own rate? When I tired to keep in time with her I made a few slip-ups.
  2. After Mass
    After Mass in the sacristy Father says a word beginning with ‘p’. Does any one have an idea as to what this word is and it’s meaning?

1> You should respond in roughly the same cadence and volume as the priest regardless of what the faithful are doing. You are responding for the faithful but not necessarily with them or in a volume that can be heard by them. Again, match Father’s volume and tempo.
  1. Proceed.
 
For a number of years prior to Vatican II, there was introduced into the EF what they call a “Dialog Mass”. Parts of it still can be found in various EF parishes. Perhaps that is what this lady is doing. It can be distracting to some.

My advise would be to do what the other poster has said. Just respond at the priests rhythm and pace.

That can be a problem. But remember, you’re responsible for the correct verbiage, she’s not. Take your cues from the priest, not her.
 
Thanks for the advice but what does the Priest mean when he says proceed?
 
The priest is saying Prosit (It has been done.).

You should respond, “Pro omnibus et singulis” (For all and for the one.)

This is traditional after the EF Mass.

Actually, prosit is the third-person subjunctive of the verb prodesse, “to be useful or of use, to do good, benefit, profit.” That statement therefore means “May it be of benefit; may it profit [us]”; hence the response.
