I think this is changing, slowly but surely. I’m sure that one day we will have our first FSSP or ICKSP (or, God willing, SSPX) cardinal or bishop.

Thanks for the response YTC. Very interesting contrast of vestments. The Chasuburger nearly made me fall from my seat. 😃

I noticed that the items you mentioned were more from the external. How about the internal changes? Knowing how the Church works, surely she would balance the external changes with internal changes.

I’ve seen those images floating around quite a lot, but I’ve always wondered: are we sure that the bishop/priest in question are Catholic? Otherwise we could be unnecessarily inflaming the situation. :eek:
 
I much prefer very simple and humble vestments. But, that’s just me.

Just a question: If traditionalist priests believe that the OF is full of innovations and other abuses, why do they hide behind the sole celebration of theTLM instead of leading workshops for the holy and reverent celebration of the OF, which is what 99% of Catholics experience? Why no crusade to send a GIRM to every parish priest in America?

Firstly, because the Societies of Apostolic Life (FSSP, ICKSP, etc.) are completely devoted to the EF. If they celebrated or advocated the celebration of the OF, their image and agenda would be lessened a lot.

Secondly, every priest in the world who celebrates the OF has a GIRM already, which is in the front of the Missale Romanum. Reading it and following it is a different story.

Good point. And even if they are not Catholic, who is to say their liturgies aren’t reverent?
