I think that the result of that experiment just suggest that subconscious mind makes the decision for routine tasks. We all experience that we can decide consciously.
I agree. However, we spend most of our lives on routine tasks. But decisions as to whether to accept a new job or leave your wife are done consciously.

Where the dividing line is between the two…not sure.

I know that conscious decision are faster than subconscious decision (think of when you are deriving and you see an obstacle, you switch from subconscious deriving to conscious deriving). I also know that we need conscious activities (decisions, learning, etc) to train our subconsciousness.

Having your subconscious make decisions for you and you making conscious decisions as to whether accept or reject any given evidence (which automatically leads to belief or unbelief) are, obviously, two different things.
You seem to have implied all our decisions are made for us by events beyond our control. I apologise if I am mistaken.

Welcome to the forum! 🙂

You are right although we cannot always train our subconscious activity. Nevertheless prayer and self-hypnosis can go a long way towards increasing our power over ourselves.

I am not sure if we can perform any act in the state of eternal joy and bliss.
In the evening of the day when the sun is setting, there is a beautiful spectrum in color of the clouds. I just look at it, my mind being swept up in it’s beauty, just staring and taking it all in. My mind is just wrapped up in this scene without thinking of anything but just enjoying it.

But if someone were to ask me, do you really want to look at this? The answer I would give would be “yes”. Because that “yes” is what I am saying all the time I am encountering this marvelous piece of work my mind is soaking up.

So “yes” is what we are constantly saying to God’s glory in heaven as our intellect is totally emersed in his wonderment.
Psalm 16
And I, being upright, shall see your face, the sight of you, when I wake, will be all that I need.
