Hello,

I am Jacob Zahye from Liberia, West Africa. I came accross this station (EWTN) a few weeks ago in my village on my short wave receiver. Ever since then, I have been enjoyin its programs from 1:00–4:00 a.m. every night. What marvelous work you do for the faith! Congratulations!! I wish I can watch the programs as well.

My questions are: 1. Do we catholics believe the evolution theory? If yes, how do we compromise it with the creation theory or the biblical account of creation?
2. What is the basis of our belief that the Blessed Virgin was taken up to heaven bodily?

My special thanks to Fr. Mitch and his guests, especially Naji Mouwad.

God bless you all at CAF.

Jacob

These Articles should answer your questions.

Adam Eve and Evolution

Immaculate Conception and Assumption

As far as watching EWTN goes, try going HERE to their website. I believe you can stream their programming from there. Also they have a number of programs available on YouTube.

Peace

as to the Assumption, I think that Rev 11:15-Rev 12:17 provides some of the strongest Bibilcal evidence, as well as Ps. 132:7-8 and the other verses which identify Mary as the Ark
catholic.com/thisrock/2005/0510fea5.asp

the patristic understanding of Mary as the New Eve, Mediatrix, and the Mother of God all support this
