Dakota,
What is a true lesbian and true gay man? I don’t believe they ever found a genetic link to SSA. Guesses and presumptions. Predispositions for certain things, doesn’t answer the whole question. There are different people with different circumstances that came into their SSA. I don’t believed that what you call a real lesbian and a real gay person is correct. There are men that are foot ball players who are very attracted to other men and women who are very feminine looking attracted to women.

I know from the conference a women who left the so called gay lifestyle, was very butch. She was molested and abused. When they get abused by men they turn away from men. For men who were abused turn toward men. Do you not believe many men who later have SSA who had been molested a part of, not all the reason for some, contributed to their formation of the SSA? Usually boys who were molested unfortunately believe that because they responded to it because boys can not help it because of their anatomy, believe that they must be homosexuals.

Women on the other hand don’t respond to it and after they have had severe abuse want to look and act like a man as wanting to completely deny their femininity for protective reasons. They want to feel in control and strong like a man and they don’t want any part of them to look attractive to the opposite sex because of the abuse they received. If you look at Chasity, now Chaz, her ex girl friend ended up breaking up with her after her sex change. Most of the butches don’t realize that it is because they are women that they have women attracted to them, not because they look like a man. Some women who also have been abused who are not SSA gain a lot of weight for the same reason.

Also added to this, is about the affirmation aspect of both sex’s that have to be learned as they are developing by the age of three and that for some has not happened or been interrupted in some with trauma. Children have to be taught what is feminine and masculine and that usually is the father’s that have that role for both sexes. A weak father is not a good role model for a man or a women. Men learn masculinity from dad, but women are shown by the father how he treats her as a little girl, being protective means a lot for both sexes, and then the mother also affirms her femininity after that.

Often mistaken to believe masculinity is just a rough and tough guy. Not so, many fathers that are not a jocks, but maintains as a man of confidence, security, reliable, honesty, good qualities that unfortunately are looked down today because they don’t act or look like Rambo and are still the man of the home and are respected. I am not a scientist, but I have learned a lot of these things through the writings and talks of Dr. Fitzgibbons, among others that have worked in this area for decades, and these issues have been brought out by some of the people in Courage with SSA. As you know it isn’t really one reason people come to their SSA, but their are some common denominators that seem to be in place.

I don’t believe the issue has to do with how much testosterone the mother had when the baby was in the womb. They haven’t prove that. What kind of research says that even if a homosexual looks masculine his brain thinks like a women and vice versa? I don’t think any of this is cemented at birth. I think some of these researchers are trying to have an excuse for a person to live that way, that it can’t be helped. Just my opinion and Just my thoughts.
God bless
By real I mean not just a phase, the incorrigible sort. I never claimed it was genetic 🤷

Indeed, molestation can damage people in cuch a way that they become attracted to the same sex, just like people who became left handed as a result of brain damage, molestation causes things that we know isn’t part of the real them.

I’m not talking about those who were molested, I was specifically talking about the ones who weren’t.

Attraction is linked very much to hormones in the womb, completely androgen insensitive XYs act exactly like women and look like women from the surface. If someone has a brain that is functionally male what their genes say is irrelevant, they will think like males, if someone has a brain that is functionally female what their genes say is irrelevant, they will think like females. Trying to convince a woman whose brain is male that they should like males is about as effective as trying to make a man attracted to men, you are wasting your time.

Dakota,
Sorry if I misunderstood,
I still have a problem with a women having a male brain and vice versa. That doesn’t make sense to me and I question this research. This would give them the excuse for them to change their sex. Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut. Your too smart. I have hard time keeping up with you.🙂

Some of the differences are absolutely decide natal environment, for example in the amygdala men and women have a number of major structural differences. Women have much smaller cells in the amygdala, but they also have many more cells and what is important for the part of the brain is the number of connections (women have more thus more connections and more strong in that area). This already apparent close to birth with newborn females focusing on faces and newborn males focusing on objects.

Do you understand now why being transgender is an extremely heavy cross? How would you feel if it was you, but inside a male body?

Dakota, I think you are making too much of this one study, and certainly drawing conclusions in your last sentence that are not justified in any way by the science.

From what I can tell, there was one Swedish study published in 2008 regarding this amygdala homosexuality connection. I cannot yet tell if the study was peer-reviewed or ever duplicated. the study involved 90 subjects–25 hetero males, 25 hetero females, 20 gay males, 20 gay females.

the amygdala differences were not all encompassing but concerned two very specific emotional response centers–fear as anxiety and “fight or flight”. This can hardly be used to justify the wide sweeping statements you have made.
the images revealed how the amygdala connected to other parts of the brain, giving clues to how this might influence behaviour.
and
In straight women and gay men, the connections were mainly into regions of the brain that manifest fear as intense anxiety.
“The regions involved in phobia, anxiety and depression overlap with the pattern we see from the amygdala,” says Savic.
This is significant, she says, and fits with data showing that women are three times as likely as men to suffer from mood disorders or depression. Gay men have higher rates of depression too, she says, but it’s difficult to know whether this is down to biology, homophobia or simply feelings of being “different”.
In straight men and lesbians, the amygdala fed its signals mainly into the sensorimotor cortex and the striatum, regions of the brain that trigger the “fight or flight” response. “It’s a more action-related response than in women,” says Savic.

I beg your pardon, but I actually have several other sources. Another source analyzed INAH 3 from autotopsies and found significant differences between heterosexual males and females however the analysis of homosexual male brains found them the same as heterosexual females.

“Previous studies showed that bilateral lesions of the male ferret’s preoptic area/anterior hypothalamus (POA/AH), centered in the sexually dimorphic nuclei present in this region, caused subjects to seek out a same-sex male, as opposed to a female conspecific. Male subjects with POA/AH lesions (which were also castrated and given estradiol) displayed female-typical receptive behavior in response to neck gripping by a stimulus male, implying that subjects’ approaches to a same-sex conspecific were sexually motivated.” rest of abstract. (don’t worry, this was done with ferrets.) What do you think it means?

Intriguingly the abstract doesn’t mention what you said so if I could please see your source I would be much obliged (and yes it was peer reviewed as you can see).

Do you understand now why being trans-gender is an extremely heavy cross? How would you feel if it was you, but inside a male body?
Are you saying all the trans-genders were born with the wrong mind? Aren’t these feelings we are talking about? Of course I understand it is a heavy cross, and I pray for all people that have a confused sexuality and problems with their gender. Nobody wants that and I have much compassion since this happened to my son. I was very hateful before and ignorant and God has shown me the way to Charity and that is why I believe he gave me my cross to come back to him and help other people.

I don’t believe that all the trans-genders are trans-genders that were born that way. One story I will mention that when this one man was transformed by Christ and when he went back in his life, he had a father that loved his little sister so much, and obviously didn’t affirm his son, that he thought in his mind that if he became a girl, maybe his father would love him. That is what he finally realized way back when he was a little boy. He eventually had a conversion…

If you go to Trading my Sorrows website their is a man, Walt Heyer, this is what he says,

From my earliest childhood I was sure I had been born into the wrong body. I struggled for nearly 35 years to accept and resolve the gender conflict within. I was diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder (GID) and approved for gender reassignment surgery.

Eight years after the surgery I was struggling again with “the wrong body” and regret came. I had to admit to myself that the surgery I so desperately sought years before was not the correct treatment. I changed back to living in my male birth gender.

My thanks to Darrell Evans for his inspiring and powerful song, “Trading My Sorrows.” I have traded my sorrows for a relationship with Jesus Christ; my identity remains in Him.

It is a very touching and sad story, but a good ending with Christ. Some of these researchers are trying to prove something that may or may not have happened and are not always factual. Guesses and hypothosis. I do know there are big processes to prove something to be a fact. How the brain functions and thinks in many cases is still a mystery. I think we all have male and female hormones and some may have more of one than another doesn’t change their sex if I am not mistaken.

We are man trying to prove what God has already stated. The point is God made us male and female and if your saying that most of these people actually have a mans mind or visa versa because they were born that way, I don’t believe it and this has been reinforce in Courage. This would just give them an excuse. Some of the researchers are bias and are homosexuals.

I am not sure why we are talking about trans-gender problems anyway, but from some of the research they also have found out from personal experiences, know that trans-genders in many, have underlying SSA problems compounded with it and because of that they would feel less guilty of becoming a homosexual because then they would be the opposite sex.

We all have or have had some problems, and how we got there is not all inborn, except with sin, but how we have developed in life. That is why we need God. Dakota smile once in a while. God loves you. Just my thoughts again. 🙂

No I do not, I think many have been confused early in life and others may want to change because they feel like a freak for liking the same sex and just want to be “normal”.

I don’t remember how to smile

Sorry.

:console: I know your in a lot of pain, but remember that Jesus knows everything your feeling. Offer up everything to him.
You have to find some joy in your life. Look up in the sky on a sunny day and see how beautiful he made the earth. Don’t just focus on your computer and all the bad things in this world and things you can not control in your life. God is in control. He is so big and we are so puny. Having a sense of humor between, me and my spouse helps us through a lot. Being too serious can cause a lot of axiety and stress. God has a sense of humor, he made me. Try and find yours and yes you will remember to smile. 😃
Praying for you every day Dakota, You are really a very special person.
God love you and bless you.

Heather, don’t you fret about a thing. I remember when I was in HS and going through the same thing, only differnce is I am a guy, and have never had a relationship. You are gay, and I am gay as well as millions of others and God loves us as much as straight ppl. The Catholic Church doesn’t teach that being gay in and of itself is a sin (how could it be when you are born that way), but having sexual relations with someone of the same sex is a sin. I very much doubt that, that is my OPINION, I do not think that God for some reason just chooses ppl at random He doesn’t want to be able to get married and experince physical love. I think that the Catholic Church’s teachings on this topic are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind the times and needs to catch up, but that is only my OPINION. A good thing to do would be keep a journal like I do, and maybe talk to your Priest and other ppl who are professed in the Catholic Church. Keep praying the Rosary and going to Mass, and asking God for His intervention in your life, and I think you will find that the answers you are looking for will be very clear… I hope I was able to help you some, I know the torment that you must go through at times, but like I said, don’t fret none

Hi, who is Heather?
When you use the word Gay you are using the enemies language. That words denotes an active sex life and it describes people as their sexuality and not the person and is really insulting to a person. Same Sex Attraction is the condition of a persons sexuality. You were not born this way, and their has been no evidence to state that claim. That is an excuse for some people to live an active homosexal life and then they wouldn’t have to take any responsibilty for their actions. I am glad you are celibate and hope you stay that way, but you have to have chastity along with it and be firm in your beliefs of the Catholic faith…
I think we have gone over this subject many times now. How is the Catholic teaching way behind the times on this subject?. It is pretty clear about these teachings. If your Catholic and have been practicing your faith, you would know this and you have to believe her truth even if you don’t understand it because you would not be faithful Catholic. Either you believe all of it or none of it.
We aren’t behind the times. God is the same before, now, and every will be. Why would it change so you can have sex outside of marriage to the same sex? Use your intelligence, not your feelings. All single people are called to chastity.
A temptation is never a sin unless you act on it. So having a SSA doesn’t mean your sinful.
Like having an attraction to women if you were a man that likes women isn’t a sin unless you are lusting after them and acting on it. The church is pretty clear on homosexual, (don’t like that word and it should be SSA as in the Courage ministry), inclinations and that it is not sinful.

It is a heavy cross and people should be respected with this situation when they are being celibate and if not, they need to know the truth, not our opinions. Everyone should recognize the dignity of a person. PPH is also used in Courage, meaning People who are practicing or promoting Homosexuality.

Bottom line we have to believe and follow ALL the teachings of the Church on morals and faith. You might not like it and that would be your cross, but you have to believe it or you become a Cafeteria Catholic picking and choosing what you want to believe in. No one is forcing you to be a Catholic, so you can choose to become a Protestant, but you will not be a faithful Catholic and you would be in serious spiritual danger.
God bless

Transgenderism and homosexuality are two very different things… We all have a habit of grouping them under the blanket term of “same-sex attractions.”

Gender identity disorder or transgenderism is very different from same-sex attractions…

It’s important to make that distinction (I’m not giving Psychological advice or anything)…

And Dakota God still loves you regardless of who you are 🙂

Try to remember that…

All acts that are intrinsically closed to life are morally wrong

The language usage of Courage just makes me cringe

I know you meant to console me, but it made me felt worse. When trying to console someone who is melancholic due to feeling quite lonely since he* has been repeatedly been told he can’t be with the person he loves please refrain from mentioning your spouse especially when saying it in such a way that makes it seem that your spouse makes you feel better as the fact the person can never have that is precisely why he is melancholic
tl;dr don’t mention your spouse when talking to someone who is sad because he can’t ever have a significant other, that just makes him feel worse

I was actually referring to the John Hopkins study, they actually pioneered sex change operations and later completely closed it on account of it not fixing underlying problems

Some people need to grow up and stop feeling sorry for themselves and realize we all have crosses and they have no idea what other people have gone through or what they are going through. Some people need to stop thinking they are too smart for everyone to help them and are being prideful and need to show a little humility. Some people feel miserable and want everyone else to feel miserable. Some people pretend they have God in their life and yet they don’t know what Charity and forgiveness is. Some people don’t appreciate the good in their life and only focus on the bad. Some people don’t appreciate they are healthy and some people area]t so fortunate. Some people don’t realize that God gives everyone a different cross and will not give them more than they can handle. Some people don’t want to see that they are loved and that they push people away and then people stay away. Their are all different kinds of people in the world and I intend to have God guide my life good or bad because at the end of it all the reward is heaven and this earth is just passing. God is good and if we don’t have him really in our lives we will always feel like something is missing and if we have in him in our lives we will never feel lonely. I know what loneliness feels like and since I have come to know him, I am never lonely. God loves us and we have to remember he knows all of our sufferings and we have to give it over to him if we want his help because we can do nothing without him.
Hopefully some people will figure this out. God loves us all and we need him to do everything.
Just my thoughts
God bless.

Gay/lesbian activities are bad just as crack smoking is bad. Sex changes are a sad mutilation which must be abolished. Unsure why people ask this, but 1 can be non-Christian & know these things are bad & evil.
