Questions/concerns about the anime, 'Fullmetal Alchemist'

[roseproject]

Hello all!

Well, I’ve never seen this show before (except for a few clips) but I’ve been curious about it for quite a while.

I’ve heard this show has some really cool themes/messages like self-sacrifice (pretty common in anime, but still) the preciousness of human life, etc etc…but I’m pretty hesitant about trying it out because it’s about alchemy…right?..but it it the same alchemy that is condemed in scripture, or is it more of a fictitious form of it like…say, how ‘Kingdom Hearts’ features “magic” but it has no real connections to satanism and the like?

What’s your view on this show?

Thanks in advance

The alchemy uses transmutation circles to create and destroy. I have no idea about any real rituals. But if you are worried, I wouldn’t watch it.

They used to call the miracle of the Eucharist transmutation. Just thought I’d throw that in there.

But I’ve watched both anime series, both FMA and Brotherhood. I’d say it’s fine because it’s fictional and is being used to weave a story with a good moral lesson.
