I was able to go to Confession today and then Mass, with all your help, so I would consider today a good day. I think I will be able to get a regular confessor, even though the priests alternate every week.
I think where the scruples tend to get worse is right after confession. I am searching for things that could ruin my peace. That, along with the fact that I have intrusive thoughts that seem to parallel this article, although not as bad, leads me to believe that I have OCD. I confessed something similar to this “I have obsessive compulsive disorder, which causes me to have thoughts of a sinful nature that I do not want and do not approve of. I wish to confess any slight degree of cooperation of the will I may have given to these thoughts.”
Which was a giant leap of trust for me, because it means I trust Jimmy Akin as a source loyal to the morals and laws of the church, I trust my own judgement (for once) by drawing a parallel, and I am posting this as well, which will receive feedback, which I trust that is helpful, truthful feedback.
As you can see the scruples are getting worse, however there was some good that came out of all this. One of the things is that I am afraid of what I am saying when I’m asking for help like this is that I am somehow sinning, whether through detraction, pride, etc. Shouldn’t a person who is asking for help be able to describe in detail their circumstances?
Also, this battle has wounded my optimism. I think I need to get outside and get more exercise.
Okay, that’s all for now, sorry if I seem to be rambling. Thank you for helping me.
