Again, don’t know if I’m posting this in the correct forum…but here goes…

Do **all **imperfect souls (in God’s friendship, of course) go to purgatory? Does this include non-Catholics? If it does include non-Catholics, I bet those souls are in for a big surprise…😃

On a similar note, are we to pray for **all **souls, including non-Catholics, or just Catholics? For instance, if I have a devout Protestant, Buddhist, or even Muslim friend who has passed away, should I or shouldn’t I pray for that individual’s soul?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, yes, and of course yes…

Protestants especially need our prayers, because you know for certain their protestant friends are not going to pray for them.

I sometimes wonder about that myself, especially for my Jewish friends. I have paid for a set of Gregorian Masses for my deceased Father, born and raised Ukranian Orthodox, and converted later to Lutheran.

My daily rosary intentions always include a request for the souls in Purgatory, and especially those most abandoned. One can only piously hope:(

couldn’t agree more. let’s pray for the holy souls everyday, for all of them whatever their religion was here on earth.
remember to pray the st. Gertrude prayer everyday!!🙂

🙂 Yes we pray for ALL the Souls in Purgatory.

A very devout Religious once told me that we should pray for the souls of Protestants because they do not believe in praying for their dead and the souls spend an enourmously long time in Purgatory. :gopray2:

I live close to a Catholic Cemetary and every time I drive by I pray:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Amen

Truth is truth, right?
IF what we believe (purgatory) is TRUTH… it’s TRUTH for ALL… that means ALL…

Yes, it will probably be a shock to those who don’t know or understand the truth in this life…
Yes, it’s very important for us to pray for ALL souls in purgatory… they’re ALL God’s children!
