Me again, still scrupulous but I’m getting help. I have a few questions I’d like some help with:

How should we respect a cross and how should we respect it? I’ve had problems with things like crossed French fries and dirt between tiles on a floor.

When writing and speaking, I sometimes worry that I’ve paid too much respect or held the subject of my sentence in a higher regard than I do God…like, I pray to Him in as respectful a tone as possible, but I worry I speak more respectfully to other people…

When reading I have problems reading “absolute” words like “always,” because I’m worried that I’ll subconsciouly begin to believe that things other than God are constant.

Whe tpying I worry about that I put my mouse over in worry that I’ll, for instance, cut off the bottom line on a letter “t” and in a way create an image of a cross that I would then be disrespecting were I to just keep scrolling.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

These things should not concern you at all. The crosses that should be respected are those made specifically to be sacramentals, not randomly occurring things like crossed french fries or the letter t.

Regarding respecting other people in speech, please remember that God knows your heart and other people do not. People need the sign of respect in your voice, whereas God knows you already, better than you know yourself. One of the things He knows is that you do not intend to sin. Try to relax a little. You cannot sin unintentionally.

I’m glad to hear you are getting help.

Thanks again. My brain’s kinda like “she might be wrong” but having read the “Ten Commandments for the Scrupulous” I think that doubt is enough to make me feel a bit better. Now to overcome habit XD.
