By your stubbornness and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself for the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God who will repay everyone according to his works: eternal life to those who seek glory, honor, and immortality through perseverance in good works, but wrath and fury to those who selfishly disobey the truth and obey wickedness.
Yes, affliction and distress will come upon every human being who does evil, Jew first and then Greek.
But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, Jew first and then Greek. There is no partiality with God.
  1. what is an impenitent heart? An heart that doesn’t repent from sin ever?
  2. apostle Paul says that after death at judgement eternal life will be the reward for those “ who seek glory, honor and immortality through perseverance in good works”. I don’t understand the first part of this concept. I think we are called to be humble and not to search for glory or honor. Of course I would like to be in Heaven with God after I die but just to be with Him, not for immortality or to gain glory, why Saint Paul is saying such things ? As for good works, as far as I understand, we will get our final salvation out of God’s grace, so we will be saved by His grace but we need faith and good works( charity) for this to happen. Is it right ?

  1. impenitent heart or unrepented heart. The first step to forgiveness is to repent. Without that there’s no hope of salvation.
  2. Paul is speaking of glory, honor, before God in heaven and not of this world. Since he adds immortality this makes sense.

Yes.

He means before God. Or in the eyes of God.

See Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

If God deems you worthy to be in heaven with Him, you will have glory. It is, by definition, a glorious thing to be one of God’s elect.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
As for good works, as far as I understand, we will get our final salvation out of God’s grace, so we will be saved by His grace but we need faith and good works( charity) for this to happen. Is it right ?
That is correct. God elects only those who have done good works in accordance with His will. See Matt 25:31-46
