I have a friend who insists that we can be saved by salvation alone. I know that many Protestants follow this theory. However, I cannot find the scripture or scriptures that relates to our doing good works, etc. and our not being saved just by salvation. Any help you can give me on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless you.

Is it possible you meant that they say we are saved by faith alone? Being “saved by salvation” is redundant.

The Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippans 2:12

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;”

That’s the best one I remember.

Actually it is that we are saved by faith alone that my friend keeps saying. I am sorry for the error.

My brother, what good is it to profess faith without practicing it! Such faith had no power to save one, has it! (Jas 2:14)

here are other passages (Mt.16:27; Rom. 2:5-10; 2 Cor. 5:10; 1 Pt. 1:17).

hope this helps.

Thank you for the Scriptures. They are very helpful.
God bless.

God bless you.
