Ok, I promise I’m not trying to be offensive, I really just need to be sure I understand the difference between wiccans and bible witches.

Do you understand what witches in the Bible did? They were considered evil, not because just because they hurt people (some might have been hurtful others not), it was because they did things against God’s(the Christian God) rules. “practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist who consults the dead.” Even if every spell or meduim act was done with awesome intentions to help someone, they were still against the rules and therefore evil in God’s sight. It dosn’t mean that the “witch” wanted necessarily to harm people.

So do wiccans do any of those things? “practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist who consults the dead.” If not, are wiccans healers like Doctors are?

yes its said that witches did that, but also so did the shamans of africa, and so on…the omen thing was also done by christians when something would happen and they say “oh my, this is a sign from god”…no offense of course

and i dont practice divination, i bealive why would you want to go and find your fate when it is coming anyways ( example…why would you run to a train when its going to stop at the station)

and spells are no more diffrent than a christian’s prayer, we wiccans just have diffrent ways of doing them.

and sorry i havn’t met a ghost or consulted with someone that has passed so that one is still open for debate…

and yes witches were like doctors back then, they used herbs to help with wounds,headaches,migranes ect. ( i myself have a small herb garden in my back yard)

p.s. although i do not practice divination, i do have dreams that are premonetions that come true

I would say the same of a Shaman. It is part of the Christian religion that these things are evil in that they break our God’s rules. The Bible also says “Witchcraft is as the sin of rebellion,” because it is seeking power from other than the Christian God.

Again, I don’t want to be offensive but at the same time, I want to be sure you know where we are coming from and I wanted to be sure I understood you as well.

For a less prickly question, 😃 How did you decide which GOd/Goddess to worship since there appears to be many wiccan ones?

its okay no offense taken, i know that in your relgion that if its in the bible then its true

now for your other question…i dont really know the three ones i picked just seemed right for me, just as how some will choose thor,loki,the morrigan, ect. ect.

I wanted to ask, since wiccans believe in multiple deities, do they believe that there is a God of Israel as discribed in the torah and christen bible? Thanks, Tim
 
Reborn Pagan,

As I understand Wicca, there are two major deities, the Lord and Lady.

Of these two, the Lady has three aspects: Maid, Mother, and Crone.

I have known some Wiccans acknowledge a further regression of these two deites, that there is one ultimate source of Divinity in the Universe and It takes on the form of Lord and Lady.

Is that your experience? What is your thinking on this matter?

I’m not sure what you mean by people taking 'wicca as veinly [sic] as possible". I assure you, the people I know who are into wicca are very serious about it. It is their chosen path, not a game. They are indeed searching for a connection to the Creator, however they like the idea of not having that Creator make any demands on them. They can worship as they please, IF they please, and it matters not to their chosen gods.

What is your perception of worship? Do your gods care if you worship them or not? Is there a proscribed form of worship? What does your worship entail? Historically, worship has included sacrifice. What type of sacrifice do your gods deem acceptable, if any?

it differs from person to person, but…i think when I die, i go to summerland, get delt with what i’ve done, and then when i start over again i got a blank slate

now you may not accept this and im sorry but its the way i bealive

What do you think about other pagan groups who claim your gods aren’t supreme, but there’s are - say for e.g. Jupiter is held to be the king of the gods to Greco-Roman pagans.

to be blunt…i could care less, i chose those and they can chose there own,

and i dont mind you saying that your god is the one true god, because i bealive with all my heart and soul that mines are real and they care about me 🙂

I used to ask him what he meant but he used to just smile.

What was he talking about?

That actually seems to be the weakness of paganism, not a strength. You accept 100 different people all claiming to worship their own gods/God.

And within paganism you’ve got different sets of gods each with one or two called the ‘supreme god’

I have yet to meet one pagan to say they worship the ‘supreme’ God/Goddess

That’s a question i can’t answer. I’m sorry but thats one you’ll have to get from the person, I don’t know them personally so i don’t know if there talking about something way diffren’t then what i interpret it as.
