Can anyone help me track down some doctrinal stuff?

I’m curious as to what the Catholic explanation of the gap between the tree of knowledge and the introduction of Jesus is.

I’m not looking for debate, just a link or something from an ‘official’ source so I know what the Church believes.

I had a couple of questions too, small stuff.

Is there a difference between dogma and doctrine, word wise? Like if I’m asking for the official opinion of the church, are they interchangeable, or should I be using a different word?

I asked in another thread but no-one answered. Should, “church” be capitalized when referring to the overall organization?

There is a difference between doctrine and dogma - though many Catholics use them interchangeably.

Dogma is the more restrictive. It refers to Church teachings that have been solemnly defined by the Church as worthy of belief. They include (but not limited to) the Trinity, the Incarnation, and Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist.

Doctrine covers anything taught by the Church - so doctrine is a more global term, covering both dogmas, and other teachings not solemnly defined. All Catholic doctrine is covered in the CCC - the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Have you tried looking in the CCC for your question? I’m not sure I understand it. Are you asking the “meaning” of all the actions in the Old Testament (from Adam to Jesus)?
