I don’t have time to explain the circumstances, but I have a question; my mother believes that we are not to eat Meat in all of Holy Week. Is this true?

I know this is observed only on Good Friday, not the whole week.

A person can “choose” not to eat meat during Holy Week, but I don’t believe that it is a requirement not to eat meat during Sunday, Monday, Tues. Wed. Thurs. or Saturday.

Ash Wednesday, the Fridays in Lent, and Good Friday are the only days you need to abstain from meat and poultry.

I would say, eat meat, especially on Holy Thursday. That is a joyful solemnity celebrating the institution of the Holy Eucharist.

In the Eastern Rite they don’t eat meat at all during Lent.
