I work as a delivery driver and I accidentally took a delivery meant for my coworker. Does this require me to go to confessions or abstain from receiving communion the next time I go to mass? In regards to the ‘thou shall not steal’ commandment, have I committed a mortal or venial sin?

If it was accidental it can’t have been a morta sin since that requires deliberate consent. I assume you are paid per package delivered? Maybe you could let them take one of your packages to even it up

Sin requires you to be culpable. This means you deliberately committed the sin of your own free will.

Doing something by accident lacks culpability and is not a sin.

All that is required is you focus more in future so you do not repeat your mistakes. Making mistakes is fine providing we learn from them and do not repeat them.
