What is the name for that psychological reaction people so commonly have against apologetics, that they stop listening to things that are contrary to them? It was mentioned on a radio show on CA but I can’t remember it.

Could you be thinking of confirmation bias, which is where people ignore anything that goes against their pre-existing beliefs, and instead choose to focus on things that support their beliefs, while interpreting ambiguous evidence as being favorable to them? It’s a pretty common response for human beings to have, it affects all of us at some point or another.

Hope that helps!
