Quick isn’t the same as brief.

Brevity may be the soul of wit, but it isn’t necessarily the only wit. . .or the only soul.

Ok, point is reasonable. Of course, one man’s brief is another man’s Polonius, LOL.

I had some profs whose ‘brief’ review could go on for 20 minutes, but considering the size of the topic, it really WAS brief (History of Music, for example!)

Again, you are quite right. Thank you!

I myself don’t have a problem with Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. But the left in the Church sure does, that’s for dang sure.

So… he is “ right”, “ extreme right” then or what in your political pidgeon holes, Mark?
Is that your point of departure? Left and right in the Church? Or is there more to this story and more involved from the political spectrum?
At the end of the day, it is your problem to look at it that way. Labels taken from politics .
Not the Church’s.
Unless you are saying that he is representative or involved in “ right wing” or “ extreme right” political factions or something, interests… in which case…who with?

I would call him a conservative bishop who leans towards the more traditional teachings of the Church. And he isn’t afraid to point out when these teachings are in his view being threatened. And he takes a lot of heat from those on the left, inside the Church for pointing these things out. Much like Bishop Athanasius Schneider and Cardinal Raymond Burke. Do you deny that there are those in high places in the Church, who would like to see drastic changes in core Church teachings??? (Germany)

There probably are. But I take the media with a grain of salt, from personal experience. What they don’t know they sometimes make up…
What do you know about this Institute in Italy intending a University to spread “ right wing ideas” , in the building of a once. monastery?
You are kind of connecting dots and so am I.
Let us say we are both speculating, Mark.

If there was one thing I had learned all these years from FrZ it was not to gloat. And then this review comes along. Very disappointing.

I’ve posted on here more than once about Vigano and how I thought he was just using his fame to promote his opinions. I still think that’s accurate to some extent. But I hadn’t read anything by him for a long time.

And then I read the Vatican II letter. And, honestly, I’m not sure what to think after that. Maybe I was wrong in slamming him. That letter impressed me a great deal. I’ll read this letter, sometime.
