Quickie: Is the St. Jude Chaplet an approved devotion of the church?

Title says it all. I can’t find any articles on the history of the St. Jude chaplet and I just wanted to know if it was approved.

Yeah I noticed that. I figured EWTN wouldn’t put anything like that up if it wasn’t at least accepted as a kind of unwritten devotion.
 
“Approved devotions” are usually either in the context of someone claiming they got the devotion from Jesus or Mary or a saint in a vision, or else publishing a book that needs a nihil obstat/ imprimatur.

If someone just wants to make a prayer to a saint and put it on a holy card, I don’t think you need a formal approval.
 
Yes. Apparitions are “approved”…there is no prayer police to approve devotions.
