Origen is a heretic. Be careful here. I’m sure he could have a student who was a saint, but Origen is NOT.We claim him.He acquired much of his Christian learning from Origen.
Origen was declared to be a heretic after his death. Many Orientals still consider him to be a saint though. After all, it was the Byzantines who condemned him after the splits between the Greeks/Latins and the Syrian churches. And as has been shown elsewhere, the saints of the Oriental Churches continue to be commemorated by Oriental Catholics even though Rome or Constantinople might have seen them as heretics.Origen is a heretic. Be careful here. I’m sure he could have a student who was a saint, but Origen is NOT.
