Now I obviously know the answer to this question otherwise I would not have posted it in quiz format and will be placing the answer up here should no one get it right or simply not oblige me as I consider the answer to be a divine truth and so a matter of great importance.

Well the apostles made their first Communion at the Last Supper so there’s that. Lemme finish my second cup of coffee and I’ll try to think deeper😊.

On my second too. :coffee:

It makes the thinking go round.

And nope. Take your time.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,
???

Prior to Christ’s death and Pentacost, the Apostles were all practicing Jews, as was Jesus. As such, the descent of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of public ministry which proclaimed the risen Christ would be the beginning of Catholicism.

You could also claim that it began when Christ said “You are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church,” as that is the moment when Christ separates His future Church from Jewish tradition.

Prior to that, Jesus was only fulfilling Jewish prophecy, and would therefore still fall under the header of Judaism.

Matthew 16 when Jesus changed Simon’s name to Peter (Rock) He officially laid the foundation of the Church He would build.

God Bless

Nice post but more suitable for when people are talking about the Church mission’s to spread the faith of the Church.

So: trombone, unfortunately.

The Old Law Church - it was started by Moses.
The New Law Church founded by Jesus - The Last Supper.

The Church is born primarily of Christ’s total self-giving for our salvation, anticipated in the institution of the Eucharist and fulfilled on the cross

Yes but the Christian Church begins with a new ritual. When Jesus shares the Eucharist, and this takes place at the Last Supper. Until He did a ritual the Old Covenant was the Church of God.

No it’s not ritual. In the Eucharist, Christ gives himself to us for all time in sacrament.
But the Church is Christ’s Mystical Body.
So you have to start with “who is Christ?”

A great statement of faith in Christ and ALL being through Him.

😀

However, not the answer.
