Right,

This is just to damn ironic, I’m sorry, but it is.

The Bible renound scientific accuracy of course says that the Earth is only a few thousand years old, that God created light to shine on the earth before the Sun, that the Sun revolves around the Earth, makes absolutly no mention of any creatures an individual of the time would not have knoledge of such as dinosaurs.

Now, I would never criticize the Bible in this respect as,

“Scripture tells us how to get to heaven, not how the heavens go”

However this is utter hypocracy, the Bible clearly and undisputeably beleives the Sun revolves around the Earth as God is said to have stoped the Sun to prolonge the daylight.
The sun was witnessed as if it was “standing still” which it was of course. To say they witnessed the earth “standing still” would have been an untruth unless by some chance one was stationed on the moon.

“On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”
Joshua 10:12-13

It is an old game to try to interpret the Qur’an to make it sound silly. I don’t think anyone will be fooled… except the fools. 🤷
So its ok for muslims to try to interpret the bible which u have called profane but for us kafirs to interpret the koran makes us fools. Thats pretty hypocritical and ignorant . I didnt make it sound silly i simply stated what the koran clearly says and backed it up with koranic verses if it sounds silly its not of my doing. If the koran came straight from god and was conveyed to mohammed by the angel gabriel then how can all these scientific errors exist? How can Dr Naik’s teachings on the science of the koran be true if the koran has so may scientific errors?

Frankly, I don’t think it’s good or useful or wise (read, I think it’s foolish) for Muslims to interpret the Bible. Usually they are wrong. Honestly, I don’t like referring to the Bible myself. I do it sometimes but I’d always prefer not to. So no, I don’t think it’s ok for Muslims to interpret the Bible. And I never meant to call the Bible profane–in fact, my point was actually that the Bible is sacred. And I only bring that up in the context of the story of Ishmael where Genesis says that he will become a “great nation.” And because the Bible is sacred, and **not **profane, a “great nation” means great in God. I do not believe that the Bible is profane, so please check my posts on that matter.

It would be hypocritical if it were my opinion, but it’s not.

If you’re familiar with Dr. Naik, that’s great. He’s a pretty amazing speaker, and maashaaAllah very familiar with the Qur’an. But you must understand that first of all the Qur’an is not a science book. It doesn’t say things like “the earth goes around the sun.” But it describes thing in interesting ways which are often mistranslated to sound silly. There are many scientists who read through the Qur’an and see something which reminds them of a newly discovered scientific fact…

Last night I was studying the 18th chapter of the Qur’an, and it talks about some people being asleep for 309 years, and God says that He kept turning them on their sides. And in our circle we had a retired neurologist, who described how when a patient is comatose, the nurses have to turn him every two hours because if he remains in one place the bottom tissues will begin to die because of the pressure. So God says He turned them. Why say that, and is it likely that Muhammad knew about that? I don’t think so. But that’s an example.

Anyway.

The Seven Sleepers of Ephesus:

The story is this: Decius (249-251) once came to Ephesus to enforce his laws against Christians – a gruesome description of the horrors he made them suffer follows – here he found seven noble young men, named Maximillian, Jamblichos, Martin, John, Dionysios, Exakostodianos, and Antoninos (so Metaphrastes; the names vary considerably; Gregory of Tours has Achillides, Diomedes, Diogenus, Probatus, Stephanus, Sambatus, and Quiriacus), who were Christians.

The supposed scientific miracles of the Koran are fabricated by Muslim scholars who deliberately

1) misinterpret certain verses by disregarding the context
2) ignore the fact that most of the words in the Koran are used in both literal and figurative sense
3) focus on one single verse and conceal similar verses that debunk their hypotheses
**4) **distort the original text through misleading translations
5) attribute the linguistic and grammatical peculiarities of Arabic to the Koran.

Very poor argument indeed. It is clear in the book of Joshua that “the Sun stood still” as a miracle going against the laws of Nature.

I totally agree with you here, this is one of the ways to deceive non Arabic speakers to believe in Quran, otherwise how to convince them to convert to Islam!.

The challenge to disprove the Qur’an as the verbatim Speech of God by finding a discrepancy within it has been around for 1,400 years and so far, this challenge has still not been met.
Your kidding right?
The quran is continually being shown its discrepancies on this very forum! Day in and day out!
If Muslims dont have an answer, they dont answer, this has happened time and time again, yet on this very forum!
We keep showing them to you, yet you continue to ignore the evidence given to you.

It is clear, and indisputiable, that the Author of the text believed the sun moved.

Can you really deney that?

Sorta like Catholics, from my perspective, who don’t have an answer to the fact that no reliable historical records exist suggesting Jesus ever existed. That doesn’t seem to bother many here.

I could post 10 messages per day for Zerinus asking where the gold plates are. He wouldn’t care about that either.

So, the Muslims’ holy book has some unbelievable filler scattered throughout the narrative…so what? The important thing is what these texts have done for the people who read them. People find stories that give them the courage to be better spouses and parents, to quit wasting time with drugs and alcohol, and otherwise to improve their lives and the world around them. These are the real “miracles” which God performs, on a daily basis, and they’re much more powerful and poignant than silly stories about angels and devils.

Actually, it is the Qur’an which is the proof of the existence of Jesus (pbuh)… but most Christians either do not realise this or simply do not want to acknowledge this fact.

As for the “silly stories” about angels and devils, Muslims too believe in the existence of other creatures such as fairies, elves, leprechauns, genies, spirits, goblins and the like.

The only thing is that we call them the jinn.

I’ve been reading up on that stuff recently. It’s pretty interesting. Djinn were made out of fire and have free will. Angels were made out of light and are a sort of emanation of the divine. Men and women were made from earth.

I don’t think all Muslims believe in leprechauns, but I do. I trust I’ll see one if I ever get 'round to the emerald isle. 🙂

You do not have to travel far to see devils and other members of the jinn family.

A fair number of them are lurking on these message boards. 😃

It is clear and indisputable that the author of the text regarded the incident as a miracle. More, the sun moves according to human perception and viewpoint.

Can you really deny that? Do you really warn people that the words “sunrise” and “sunset” are scientifically inaccurate and must therefore be removed from languages?😉

This comment of yours makes me think that there are many historical records suggesting Jesus’ existence, all of which you personally and subjectively discard as unreliable.

Is Koran a reliable historical record proving Jesus’ existence? If the answer is yes, the NT is a much more reliable and accurate historical record testifying to Jesus! We neither need the Koran to prove Jesus’ existence nor can rely on it since it was written six centuries after Jesus. Adopting Jesus from Christian tenets and quoting His stories from Apocryphal Gospels cannot make the Koran a reliable historical source 😉

Well, according to your understanding (I think), God can’t even lift a rock. Is God All-powerful if He can’t lift a rock?

Muslims don’t limit God… and a good (Muslim) friend of mine recently taught me a lesson, to never say “God can’t,” because how can we put limits on God? We can’t limit Him or His Power.

So the answer to the question is that God does what God wills. And for something to be impossible for God is contradictory to the nature of God–either creating such a rock, or not being able to lift it. Moreover, Muslims believe that God is not a part of the creation, but that He exists outside of it, sustaining it. He affects the creation, controls it–not the other way around.
If God is all powerful, can he assume a human nature, YES or NO?
