Shunny Onions (Onion Jonnies) were the Breton onion sellers who used to visit South Wales every year. They rode bicycles, with strings of onions hanging on the handlebars. The men were very popular in the Rhondda, and since the Breton language is similar to Welsh they were easily understood. So…
