It’s a complete outrage! I voted NO, on whether England should change its flag. Dear God, deliver us from political correctness! Where is this world coming to!:banghead:

As for the Crusades, everyone forgets the fact that Muslims had captured HALF OF CHRISTENDOM! If Christians had taken over Mecca and Medina and half of Muslim territories wouldn’t they have launched their own crusade???

But of course the Crusaders were Catholic, so that’s where all the bashing comes in. If they had been good ole’ Protestants it would have been all right then!

I could understand how wearing simply the St George cross might upset folks, but it seems to me that the British flag (which includes the St George cross in its design) should be okay.

I do hope we will bar all crescents from public property. 😉

Just for the record the reccomendation not to wear St George Crosses has got absolutely no connection whatsoever to Islam or Muslims. The use of English national symbols by English Fascists like the BNP and the NF makes these symbols suspect to many black, brown and Jewish Britons.

The fact that CNN has got the wrong end of the stick and thinks that it has something to to with the Crusades just shows the pitfalls of foreigners commenting on British affairs. Look at the report on the BBC site news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/west_yorkshire/4305798.stm and see how often the word Muslim comes up.

If you’re correct, and I suspect you are, then it would seemed I jumped the gun this time.

Still, when representations of pigs, three-dimensional or otherwise, are banned from offices, and the British Burger King subsidiary starts pulling its ice-cream cones because a Muslim complained the decorative embellishments looked too much like the Arabic spelling of “Allah”, one can never be too sure.http://webpages.charter.net/connectingzone/think/7.gif

yes heaven forbid that anyone should get offended by people wearing their flag as a tie pin. i mean how shocking and insensitive ofthose gaurds to not only buy a pin which is supporting research into cancer.

“A lot of Muslims and Arabs view the Crusades as a bloody episode in our history,” he told CNN. "They see those campaigns as Christendom launching a brutal holy war against Islam.

Lauching a brutal attack on islam? mmmmm. i wonder why they "launched " a attack on islam. was it because islam invaded half of christendom and had their eyes on the other half? What hypocrites. I suppose britian fighting hitler was just a case of the british “launching” a unjust war on poor old hitler? I mean poor old adolf only wanted to take over europe and kill 6 million jews and catholic poles right? Who do the brits think they are? wanting to defend themselves like that. truely disgusting. . i hope the muslims don’t get the idea here the australian flag is covered in crosses
