Try looking up this Prof. Rushton on Wikipedia and see what you find. . .
Scary stuff. J. Philippe Rushton is a past president of the Pioneer Fund…
Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting:
…described by the London Sunday Telegraph (3/12/89) as a “neo-Nazi organization closely integrated with the far right in American politics.” The fund’s mission is to promote eugenics, a philosophy that maintains that “genetically unfit” individuals or races are a threat to society.

The Pioneer Fund was set up in 1937 by Wickliffe Draper, a millionaire who advocated sending blacks back to Africa. The foundation’s charter set forth the group’s missions as “racial betterment” and aid for people “deemed to be descended primarily from white persons who settled in the original 13 states prior to the adoption of the Constitution of the United States.” (In 1985, after Pioneer Fund grant recipients began receiving political heat, the charter was slightly amended to play down the race angle–GQ, 11/94.)

The fund’s first president, Harry Laughlin, was an influential advocate of sterilization for those he considered genetically unfit. In successfully advocating laws that would restrict immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe, Laughlin testified before Congress that 83 percent of Jewish immigrants were innately feeble-minded (Rolling Stone, 10/20/94). Another founder, Frederick Osborn, described Nazi Germany’s sterilization law as “a most exciting experiment” (Discovery Journal, 7/9/94).
The article continues:
Rushton (who’s gotten more than $770,000 from Pioneer) has transformed the Victorian science of cranial measurement into a sexual fetish–measuring not only head and brain size, but also the size of breasts, buttocks and genitals. “It’s a trade-off: More brain or more penis. You can’t have everything,” he told Rolling Stone’s Adam Miller (10/20/94), explaining his philosophy of evolution.
Rushton was reprimanded by his school, the University of Western Ontario, for accosting people in a local shopping mall and asking them how big their penises were and how far they could ejaculate. “A zoologist doesn’t need permission to study squirrels in his backyard,” he groused (Rolling Stone, 10/20/94).
Rushton’s creepy obsessions intersect with the ugliest sides of politics: A 1986 article by Rushton suggested that the Nazi war machine owed its prowess to racial purity, and worried that demographic shifts were endangering our “Northern European” civilization. Rushton co-authored a paper that argued that blacks have a genetic propensity to contract AIDS because of their “reproductive strategy” of promiscuous sex (cited in Newsday, 11/9/94).

Okay, the article is from 1995, so perhaps Professor Rushton has changed his views. But I am guessing not.

Try reading Professor Rushton’s book: Race, Evolution and Behavior. Race is more than skin color.
I take it back. Even bullfighter was not quite as insane as to recommend the work of a latter-day Dr. Mengele.

Has anyone here studied the history of this country? “Non-whites” have never tried to break into white society. Organizations like the NAACP, which by the way has always had non-black members, wehre founded to counter the Jim Crow laws that denied non-white Americans thr protections under the constitution on the US. by the way being black is not like being white. A black person can’t change the coloe of his skin, and unfortunately in the US is immediately instantly deemed a threat. How many of you clutch your purse a little closer or move closer to the door when a blackman steps on the elevator. But, being a Catholis christian, when this happens to me when I get on the elevator, I just say a little prayer for thos scared individuals.
I don’t care about how someone is dressed. If a scruffy biker type showed up, that would bother me, regardless of skin color. If a gansta rapper type showed up, that would bother me, regardless of color. Some bug hulky guy who leans over me too close, that would bother me.

To me, it’s about the choices people make, not the color of their skin, which they didn’t have any choice about.

Yep, exactly- I agree totally,

But on a side note some of those bikers or seeming rapper folks may really be be nice if given the chance. These looks can be very intimidating though! 🙂

Both the terms “white” and “Hispanic” are insufficiently descriptive to truly tell much about a person.

Technically, all “Indo-Europeans” are “white”. Bobby Jindal is “white”. Tell the average Uruguayan that he isn’t “white” and he will give you a piece of his mind. I have seen Mexicans who are “whiter” in appearance than I am, though I am of Western European descent entirely.

Inasmuch as Iranians, Kurds, lots of Turks and Sikhs are “white”, I don’t have (nor do most “white” Americans) have a whole lot to identify with in them other than simply the knowledge that we’re all descended mostly from herding tribes of the Eurasian steppes and, generally speaking, can tolerate milk sugar.

“European” is a different thing for me, at least. I am, frankly, proud of European civilization. It seems to me that, notwithstanding some of the awful things Europeans have done, it has contributed a great deal to the world’s welfare. I’m not unmindful of those things of note which my Irish, Alpine and Alsatian forebears accomplished. But I do have more admiration for the historic role of Europe as a whole than I do of any of those separately.

I deplore the recent tendency in education to minimize the contribution which Europe has made to history. I do not mean to deprecate what any other people has done. But I do think the admiration of “diversity” has reasonable limits. And that limit is, I think, exceeded when people who live in an overwhelmingly western nation have no idea where most of the things they do and even think, have European roots.

Hispanics, notwithstanding their often greater “racial” admixture, are culturally of European extraction as well. In my opinion, it is a great mistake on the part of both them and us to magnify differences between us that are, for the most part, pretty superficial. I have a lot more in common, culturally, with a Mexican, than either of us have with a Pashtun, notwithstanding that the Pashtun and I might be more “racially akin”. I deplore organizations that magnify the differences between us.

La Raza, it might be noted, is an “umbrella” organization consisting of a number of organizations, one of which is MEChA, a very racist organization, one of whose avowed purposes is to eliminate “Europeans” from the American Southwest and California. So La Raza is not exactly clean of racism.

Nor is it possessed of common sense, given the European heritage of many of it’s members.

One thing I’d like to point out, no real disagreements with your points, except that the Sikhs are followers of a religion, not an ethnic group.

If I’m judging somebody on the colour of the skin then I’m judging them on very superficial grounds. Christ judges us by what we are on the inside not what we are on the outside. I can’t change the colour of my skin but I can change my behaviour. We might have more in common with Catholics of other skin colours and races than people of different religions that share the same colour skin ie. Mormons. If you feel that you’re particularly concerned about this issue than go to Confession more often if you feel you need to confess to judging by appearances. I think we’re living in a racist culture although racism is currently hidden rather than overt, so we just have to pray very hard and not read things with a racist content or watch too much tv. I think this is a burden we all share and sometimes there is also injustice in terms of wealth betweeb people of different colours so we may need to be more generous to black people/Africans or those living in the developing world.
