Racism is a sin. The USCCB issued a statement detailing why.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Dennis Schnurr of Cinncinnati denounced the Charlottesville neo-Nazi demonstration by stating the following:
“We stand against the evil of racism, white supremacy and neo-Nazism.”

But the question was raised in another thread. Is there currently such a thing as racism? What about neo-Nazism? Are the bishops addressing a real problem or - to put it in the words of one CAF member - merely “the Easter bunny?”
 
That’s probably because you are being too general about it.

Calling people you don’t like names is a bad arguing tactic. That some bishops engage in it is unfortunate.
 
The most racist thing to do is start a race war, where there is very little racism.
 
Racism is (as commonly used anyway) an anti-concept. It has no generally known definition and is simply a slur for people that the person speaking disagrees with.

Yes those things really exist. It depends where you live as to the extent of the problem, but yes it is around.
 
It would probably be best to cite certain examples of racism than to be general or unspecific.

I’d actually agree with the premise. It does get overused. Racism is real, however.

So what are some examples of when people ARE committing the sin of racism?
 
Oh I know darn well that it’s around and quite real.

In another thread, people were denying the existence of neo-Nazism in Europe to the extent that someone claimed it was a fictional as the Easter bunny. I was curious if they would deny racism, as well.

It would be false to say racism doesn’t exist.

It’s also false to say the majority, or even a sizable minority, of Americans, people on the right, and even trump supporters are racist.

Neo Nazis are a bunch of loser playing dress up. They have no political power or influence and it’s ridiculous to pretend they do just for an excuse to have a boogie man

Racism is the belief that your race is inherently superior and others races are thereby inferior. It is rooted in prejudice, fear, hatred and mostly ignorance. There is such thing as racist. Anyone from any race can be racist.
 
Anytime the topic of race comes up, I am usually disappointed by CAF answers honestly.
 
Here are some textbook definitions of racism:
“prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.”

“the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.”
