I am an 19 year old girl and, have always been a very conservative catholic. I have a severe problem that I have been trying to fix for a few years. I have an abnormally, ridiculously high sex drive that I can’t seem to overcome no matter what I do.
If you were conceived in lust by your parents you will have lust in you.
I have been with a yung man for 2 years now, who is now my fiancee. We lost our virginity to each other when we first started going out, which we dreadfully regret, and we made a commitment to purity ever since then. But for some reason within the last few months I want nothing more but to have sex with him again.
That’s lust. Is that all life is about? If you focus your mind on lust, the lust will only expand. Turn the mind elsewhere.
Where is your relationship with God in all of this? Where is your love for God? Do you turn to God with love for God?
Sometimes all I have to do is look at him and I am overwhelmed with sexual desire. I masturbate almost every day and am constantly filled with impure thoughts.
As the feeling, so the result. If you focus on lust, you will be overtaken by lust.
So what are you doing to manage your mind and manage your lust?
Do you manage your mind or are you a slave to your mind? Is it your master?
I hope not, because it is your SERVANT. You can steer the mind to some other topic, something else until the lust passes away. That is what devotion is there for. It is a tool for you to turn your mind to God. That is the sole purpose of the church in fostering devotions and providing devotional practices to you. They enable you to manage the mind, turn it to God, and remain in control of the senses …
Recently, I nearly seduced him because I wanted it so bad.
Manage the mind. What good is lust to you?
Is there any possible way to calm my sexual urge?? We arent going to be married for three more years, so its a long commitment. Feel free to pray for me as well!!!
Start early; drive carefully, arrive safely.
When the lust approaches, drive carefully, start managing the mind, do some other activity, take a drink of cold water, stand in front of the mirror and say, “I am a human being, not an animal” ten times.
Repeat as many times as needed.
